Anglers are finding success with black crappie this week! A recent evening trip yielded a solid catch in just about an hour, proving that the bite is active. Crappie are being caught in good numbers, with many anglers reporting "a nice mess of slabs."

For the best results, focus on brush piles, submerged timber, and drop-offs, as crappie are sticking to structure. Live minnows, jigs, and small plastics are producing steady action. Evening hours seem to be particularly productive, so plan for a sunset fishing session for a higher chance of landing quality crappie.

What a beautiful day ! Pomme de terre lake is producing some quality fish. Doug and I managed two nice limits of crappie today. Thanks again Doug for booking a trip with me today I’m glad I was able to teach you some new techniques. Today we caught fish in standing timber in 39 degree water casting at the tree  and letting it fall back to the boat 20 ft deep as well as casting over shallow brush piles and reel it back in with the yellow and chartreuse Slab Buster Crappie Jigs and Lures with a white 1/8 ounce jig head. We was also using the thread fin shad by Bobby Garland Crappie Baits paired up with the super sensitive 6.8 Crappie Slammers rods from I AM Outdoors .
